Additional Sponsorships Announced For 2008 Ocean City Special Events               

Ocean City, Maryland - The east coast's largest city-wide automotive events have announced nine new sponsors for 2008. AAA Mid-Atlantic, American Autowire, Billet Specialties, Dupont Hot Hues, Jig-A-Loo Lubricants, Slide-Lok, Roush Performance, Those Garage Guys, and the Toyota Hybrid Experience are scheduled for 18th annual Cruisin' Ocean City on May 15-18.

These companies will join returning Ocean City Special Event sponsors Barry Grant Products, Cobras at Maxx Motors, Colonial Crossings of Williamsburg, Flaming River, Flowmaster, GM Performance, Goodmark Industries, Goodyear, Maryland Lottery, Meguiar's and Miller Electric. The event sponsors will be showcased in a massive 20,000 square foot Sponsorship Walkway. 

Legendary drag racing champion "Big Daddy" Don Garlits is the Cruisin' Ocean City special event guest for 2008, and will bring some of his famous rides to display at the Beachside Inlet. Garlits will also be available for autographs & photo opportunities throughout the four day event.

Noted automotive photographer Chuck Vranas will be in attendance, signing copies of the brand new special edition book Custom Cars. The Rip Chords will perform live in concert at the Ocean City Convention Center Friday May 16, and The Vogues will take the concert stage on Saturday May 17. There will also be a Hot Rod & Muscle Car auction at the Convention Center on May 16.

Ocean City’s Beachside Inlet & Boardwalk and the Ocean City Municipal Convention Center are the event venues. The festivities start on Thursday morning May 15 with the traditional "Cruisin' Ocean City Parade" (Thurs-Fri-Sat.) on Ocean City's classic Beachside Boardwalk. There will be live on-stage DJ's playing rock & roll favorites, on-stage event sponsor trophy presentations, automotive and pop culture trivia contests, special give-aways, and great door prizes. The event concludes Sunday afternoon May 18 with final award ceremonies at the Beachside Inlet's Main Stage. Up to 6,000 cars and 100,000 spectators have attended previous Cruisin' Ocean Citys, filling four square miles to capacity with 'hot rod heaven' along the Delaware-Maryland peninsula.
